Plan who brings what—without rebuilding the list in chat.

Set the guest count, add each contribution, and see what the table still needs. Then copy or share one clear plan with the group.

Build one version of the plan

The targets adjust with your guest count. They are conversation prompts, not portion or food-safety guarantees.

Add contributions to see the coverage plan.

Add a contribution

One clear owner is more useful than a perfectly detailed recipe.

Current contribution list

  1. No contributions yet. Start with the main dish or centrepiece.
Your plan stays in this browser tab.

Foodies does not save or transmit the gathering name, people, or dishes you type here. Nothing leaves this page unless you choose Copy or Share. Closing or refreshing the tab clears the plan.

How the targets work

Cover the meal before choosing every dish

The planner suggests a mix of centrepieces, substantial sides, vegetables or salad, dessert or fruit, drinks, snacks, and practical supplies. As the group grows, the suggested number of contributions grows too.

These are flexible planning prompts. A large dish can cover more than one slot, and a small plate may cover less. Confirm quantities, allergies, dietary needs, transport, storage, and safe serving temperatures directly with your guests.

A calmer handoff

Share responsibilities, not private details

“Guest 4 — salad” is enough to establish ownership. The copied plan contains only the text you entered and a short reminder to confirm dietary needs. It does not create a public page or searchable guest list.

If this dinner becomes a recurring tradition, a private club gives the group a lasting home for members, gatherings, contributions, and the next-host handoff.

Potluck planning questions

How much food should each person bring?

Agree on the guest count and whether each dish is a full contribution or a smaller tasting portion. The category targets help reveal gaps, but the host and contributors should confirm quantities directly.

How do I avoid duplicate dishes?

Assign categories first, then let each owner name the actual dish. The planner makes the current category mix visible before the list is copied back into the group chat.

Does Foodies check allergens?

No. Dish names are not reliable allergen information. Ask guests directly, label food clearly, and follow appropriate food-safety guidance.

Can I come back to this plan later?

Not in this free browser tool. The plan is intentionally temporary. Copy it before leaving, or start a private Foodies club if the group needs an ongoing home.

When one dinner becomes a tradition

Give the group a private home between potlucks.

Keep members, gathering plans, contributions, and the next-host handoff together without making the club public.
